Stress Fractures: Performance Poetry

To celebrate the launch of Stress Fractures: Essays on Poetry, Penned in the Margins presents two talks and a panel discussion investigating performance poetry, slam, and hip-hop lyricism.

Writer and academic David Barnes uncovers an unlikely Romantic poet in British rapper Roots Manuva. Stand-up poet Tim Clare fights for and against the art of Slam. Then, poet-magician Nathan Penlington, poet-educator & tech-head Jacob Sam-La Rose and live lit producer Sarah Ellis (Apples & Snakes) debate the future of performance poetry. Audience interaction… encouraged!
