Anthony Joseph is acknowledged as the leading writer of the Black British avant-garde; the frantic inventiveness of his poetry and prose matched only by the energy and passion of his live performances.
The African Origins of UFOs is Joseph’s third book, an ‘afro-pyschodelic-noir’ fusing metafiction, mythology, Afro-futurism and science fiction. Early admirers include Linton Kwesi Johnson, Kamau Braithwaite and Professor Lauri Ramey, who describes it as ‘a future fiction classic’. The African Origins of UFOs Tour brought Anthony Joseph to the attention of audiences all over the UK at music venues, arts centres and literature festivals, and marked the long-overdue arrival of one of the UK’s most exciting and challenging voices.
