Riot Acts is seeking proposals for new live\/performance work in response to the August riots in London and across cities in England.<\/p>\n
We will select three ideas to be presented as scratch performances on Saturday 19 November<\/strong> at Rich Mix<\/a> in East London.<\/p>\n This is not a showcase for finished pieces but a presentation of work that is as exciting as it is rough and ready. This is a great opportunity to develop or test out an idea in a supportive, critical setting and get a variety of responses to your work.<\/p>\n Deadline for applications: Friday 14 October at 5pm<\/strong><\/p>\n Around 15 minutes of new, original material. We are open to individual artists and companies.<\/p>\n We are not looking for polished, finished work but pieces that take a risk, test the seed of a new idea or try something different.<\/p>\n We are looking for work that is inspired by any aspect of the riots and responds to it in any way \u2013 whether head on or tangentially, political or mundane.<\/p>\n We are especially, but not exclusively, interested in work that is experimental, collaborative, or uses new technology.
