Performance artist and theatre maker <strong>Greg McLaren<\/strong> of STK International conducts <em>A Score for a Riot<\/em>, asking the audience to consider who is responsible for what they are doing, and who put them there in the first place. <strong>Sophie Woolley<\/strong>\u2018s futuristic monologue\u00a0<em>Stratford City 2013 <\/em>is a confessional about a bickering couple accidentally caught up in the riots of a beautiful giant shopping mall filled with lovely things. And theatre collectives <strong>The Hurly Burly &amp; Circus Kinetica<\/strong> join forces to create <em>Birdy<\/em>, a modern take on the Icarus myth set in a burning building.<\/p>\n<h3>Luke Wright &amp; Zara Hayes<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin-left: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pennedinthemargins.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/classic\/wright_web.jpg\" alt=\"Luke Wright\" width=\"250\" height=\"150\" align=\"right\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lukewright.co.uk\">Luke Wright<\/a> has been called &#8220;one of our best young poets&#8221; by <em>The Observer<\/em> and one of the &#8220;funniest and most brilliant poets of his generation&#8221; by <em>The Independent.<\/em> His work is widely published, including <em>The Sunday Times, Magma, The Spectator<\/em> and <em>The Big Issue<\/em>. His poetry stage shows have won awards and completed sold-out runs in Edinburgh and London. His most recent, <em>Cynical Ballads<\/em>\u00a0toured the UK , China and Australia picking up five star reviews along the way. The Scotsman described it as &#8220;timely, patriotic and consistently funny&#8221; adding that it&#8221; defies superlative and leaves a choking gap in you when it finishes.&#8221; Wright hosts and co-programmes Latitude&#8217;s Poetry Arena, makes verse documentaries for Channel 4 and writes topical verse for Radio 4&#8217;s <em>Saturday Live<\/em>. He has two books published by Nasty Little Press.<\/p>\n<p>Zara Hayes worked with Luke on <em>The Seven Ages of Love<\/em> (C4) which was nominated for a prestigious Grierson Award. Her latest 60 minute documentary was <em>Travels with My Family<\/em> (BBC2, June 2011).<\/p>\n<h3>Greg McLaren<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin-left: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pennedinthemargins.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/classic\/mclaren_web.jpg\" alt=\"Greg McLaren\" width=\"250\" height=\"150\" align=\"right\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gregmclaren.com\">Greg McLaren<\/a> writes and perform theatre shows, live art, and music. Recently Greg\u2019s performance work has been supported by and performed at BAC, Bristol Old Vic, Cambridge Junction, MAC Birmingham, Science Museum, Riverside Studios.\u00a0 His Live Portraits have been exhibited at El Rojas gallery in Buenos Aires, and the National Portrait Gallery. Greg\u2019s sound work includes: <em>The New End of the World World<\/em> (to be listened to on a specific London bus journey, with accompanying performance), <em>Bathgate no More<\/em> (to be listened to on the train from London to Edinburgh), music for performance (the Christmas Bullet) and audio for video games (BUZZ!). Greg is a British Council Young Creative Entrepreneur, a member of the Soho Theatre Writers group, and a BAC Independents alumni.<\/p>\n<p>He is the founder of \u00a0Stoke Newington International Airport, a venue and arts collective based in a rescued building in East London.<\/p>\n<h3>Sophie Woolley<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin-left: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pennedinthemargins.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/classic\/woolley_web.jpg\" alt=\"Sophie Woolley\" width=\"250\" height=\"150\" align=\"right\" \/>Writer and actor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sophiewoolley.com\/\">Sophie Woolley<\/a> writes scripts for stage, radio and screen, and performs in her own plays, (<em>When to Run, Fight Face, Carbon Cleansing<\/em>). She starred in Channel 4\u2019s award winning <em>Cast Offs s<\/em>eries, and most recently in <em>Dragonfly <\/em>on Radio 4. She has performed her plays at Edinburgh Fringe, Soho Theatre, Hammersmith Lyric, Royal Festival Hall, to name but a few.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s massively talented\u201d &#8211; Irvine Welsh<\/p>\n<h3>The Hurly Burly &amp; Circus Kinetica<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin-left: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pennedinthemargins.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/classic\/hb_web2.jpg\" alt=\"The Hurly Burly\" width=\"250\" height=\"150\" align=\"right\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehurlyburly.co.uk\">The Hurly Burly<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.circuskinetica.com\">Circus Kinetica<\/a> are two established, award winning, festival teams that share a passion for original and sustainable art. The Hurly Burly provide performance interventions at festivals, combining dance, live music and physical theatre. Circus Kinetica provide large scale sculptural works that fill a festival sky with butterflies, feathers, wheels and water machines.<\/p>\n<p>Between them, they have created art for, and with: Skyarts, Bitesize, Gomito, Glastonbury Festival, Secret Garden Party, Big Chill, Bestival, Courvoisier, Thames Festival, Brighton Council, BBC, Life Water, Oxfam, Greenpeace, London Mela, Electric Picnic and Hove Museum &amp; Gallery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">~<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Performances last approximately 15 minutes each, are works-in-progress, and were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pennedinthemargins.co.uk\/index.php\/2011\/09\/riot-acts-call-for-proposals\">selected<\/a> from thirty proposals of work.
