(\u00a322k pro rata)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is the chance to join a dynamic, award-winning publisher and performing arts company. From its beginnings as a reading series in a converted railway arch in south London, Penned in the Margins has grown over the last 15 years to be a respected producer of new work live, in print and online, with a focus on contemporary poetry. Penned in the Margins has been a member of Arts Council England\u2019s National Portfolio since 2015, managing a busy programme of books, events and touring productions. Our publications have won or been shortlisted for awards including the Costa Book Awards, the Dylan Thomas Prize, the Poetry Book Society Choice and the British Book Design &amp; Production Awards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The successful applicant will work closely with both the Director and Sales &amp; Marketing Coordinator to coordinate the planning, production and distribution of our book projects. They will have a strong grasp of systems and processes, and be confident using a range of computer software and online platforms.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Duties will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>establishing and maintaining project timelines;<\/li>\n<li>supporting the commissioning and contracting of new titles;<\/li>\n<li>liaising with authors, designers, print suppliers, distributors and partners;<\/li>\n<li>ensuring the accuracy and timely dissemination of bibliographic data;<\/li>\n<li>monitoring stock levels and coordinating replenishment;<\/li>\n<li>driving the rollout of our e-book, POD, audio-book and other plans;<\/li>\n<li>advising on future publishing strategies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The role will focus on our publishing programme, but the successful applicant will have the opportunity to range across the company\u2019s activities, from event planning to artistic curation. Some general administration will also be required. This position would suit an individual with some experience in publishing or a related industry, or a more experienced arts\/publishing professional seeking flexible part-time employment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for someone with a dynamic, solutions-driven personality. The role also demands reliability and the ability to organise one\u2019s time and workload. The role is based in our office in Aldgate, central London. Due to the nature of our activities, some evening work would be expected. The role is offered on a two-year contract, with a three-month probation period and a performance review after one year.
