Produced by award-winning arts producer Penned in the Margins, <strong>London Quarterly<\/strong> will feature celebrated novelists, cult poets and rising stars of the spoken word scene in four beautifully curated evenings, starting in April.<\/h2>\n<p>London Quarterly is coming to Camden Town music venue The Forge, known for its gorgeous acoustic and a \u2018living wall\u2019 of plants designed by Katharine Bradburn. Each event introduces four authors, who will read from their work and give audiences a chance to quiz them on their writing practice and subject matter: from hawks to London history, from outcasts to edgelands.<\/p>\n<p>The first instalment (14 April) is headlined by legendary poet, novelist and filmmaker <strong>Iain Sinclair<\/strong>, who is joined by experimental writer and artist <strong>Heather Phillipson<\/strong>, poet <strong>Chimene Suleyman<\/strong> and author of <em>London&#8217;s Lost Rivers<\/em> and <em>The Vanished City<\/em> <strong>Tom Bolton<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Organiser Tom Chivers compares London Quarterly to &#8220;a live version of your favourite literary journal&#8221; and promises the series will bring a mix of fresh, contemporary writing together with &#8220;the time-honoured idea of listening to someone read stories and poems for you&#8221;. They believe in the power of language to challenge how we think, test new ideas and explore alternative stories. They operate across the arts, collaborating with writers, artists and creative partners using new platforms and technologies.
