Vacancies: Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator (p/t) [POSITION CLOSED]

Blog | Published on March 19, 2015

A small independent publisher and performing arts company is seeking a part-time (2 1/2 days a week) Sales & Marketing Coordinator.

This is the chance to join a dynamic arts company at an exciting moment in its development. From its beginnings as a reading series in a converted railway arch in south London, Penned in the Margins has grown over the last decade to be a respected literary producer of new work live, in print and online. This unique blend of publishing and performance characterises its distinctive model in the cultural landscape. From 2015 Penned in the Margins joins the Arts Council’s National Portfolio, with a busy programme of books, events and touring productions.

Sales & Marketing Coordinator (p/t)
London
£9k (£18k pro rata)

The successful applicant will work closely with the Director to increase the company’s audiences and readers, and enhance the depth and breadth of its reach. The role will focus on marketing, PR and sales for our books and events, but the successful applicant will have the opportunity to range across the company’s activities, from book production to artistic curation. Some general administration may also be required. This position would suit either a recent graduate looking for their first job in the arts, or a more experienced arts marketing professional seeking flexible part-time employment. (For the right candidate, we are open to discussion of this role as a fixed-fee freelance contract.)

We are looking for someone with a dynamic, solutions-driven personality, but the role also demands reliability and the ability to organise one’s time and workload. You would be based in our office in Aldgate, London. Due to the nature of our activities, some evening work would be expected. The role is offered on a twelve-month contract, renewable to three years, and the successful applicant would be expected to start in May.
